Chitemere
Privacy
Last changed 29 September 2026
Chitemere keeps the smallest amount of information it can and still run its stores. This is all of it, in plain words.
What we keep
- Your account: your name, your email address and, if you add one, your photo. Your password is stored by our sign-in provider as a one-way hash. Nobody at Chitemere can read it.
- Your orders at Mart, Beverages and Eats: what you asked for, the total, any note you left, and each status as it changes. This is the store’s record of the sale.
- Your favourites, table bookings and the messages you send to a store or to us: your name, email, the topic and what you wrote.
- A problem you report from the app, with the app’s version and your phone’s make, so we can find what went wrong.
What stays on your phone
Your baskets, your recent searches, your notifications list and the store lists the app keeps so it opens quickly without signal. None of it leaves your phone until you place an order.
Notifications are worked out by the app itself on your phone. We do not use a notification service that tracks you, and there are no advertising or tracking tools in the app.
What we never collect
The app takes no card details. You pay the store when your order is confirmed or collected, so there is no card of yours for us to lose.
We do not buy information about you, and we do not sell, rent or share yours for advertising.
One account, every store
The same Chitemere account signs you in to the app and to the Mart, Beverages, Eats and Motors websites. Your name, email and photo are shared between them, which is the point: you register once. What you order at one store is not shown to the others.
Chitemere Fresh and Chitemere Wireless run their own accounts. When you shop them inside the app, you are using their own pages and their own privacy terms.
Who else handles it
A few services we rent touch your information, and only these:
- Our database and sign-in provider, which keeps your account, your orders and your photo.
- Our email provider, which sends our emails, such as confirming your email and telling you an order is ready.
- Our web host, which runs our websites and the parts of them the app talks to.
- Our app update service, which delivers new versions of the app.
How long we keep it
Orders we keep, because a store has to answer questions about a sale months later. Your account we keep while it exists. Messages we keep until the conversation is finished, and a reasonable time after.
Seeing, changing or deleting it
You can change your name, email and photo yourself in the app, under Account and then your profile. To get a copy of what we hold, or to have your account deleted, use Delete my account in your profile, or Report a problem in the app.
When an account is deleted, its name, email, photo and favourites go and it can no longer sign in. The bare record of orders it placed stays, because those are the stores’ books, but nothing in it says who you are.
Children
Chitemere is meant for adults. We do not knowingly keep accounts for children, and if one turns up we remove it.
When this changes
If what we do with your information changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. We will not quietly widen it and hope nobody reads.
